HVLV
The Client
HVLV came to us with an existing website which wasn't returning the levels of traffic that they needed to continue to expand their business. The Frontier Group moved their site from flash into a website which is search engine optimised, compatible with mobile devices and still able to grab users with a beautiful and dynamic design.
The Business Problem
HVLV needed to expand their online presence and return to a growing market of mobile devices and search engine centric users.
The workflow they employ to build their massive switchrooms gives them a unique edge to their competitors and it was important that their website emphasise this to potential new customers.
Moving this information to a platform which they could manage, and a design which would complement their content gave us a set of goals to work towards and a measuring point for success.
The Frontier Group's Solution
One of our immediate goals was to move away from the Flash platform previously employed to serve the content. Flash is not compatible with Apple's iPhone or iPad and this particular iimplementation was unreadable by Google and other popular search engines.
HTML 5, CSS 3, and a sprinkle of Javascript
Flash is no longer the only way to produce a website with beautiful and dynamic content and is quickly becoming replaced with newer standardised technology, thanks in part to Apple not providing support for it on their mobile devices.
Our designers created a solution to the gallery and image carousels which are compatible across all mobile platforms, as well as traditional platforms. As these solutions are built on HTML they are also easily indexed by search engines and are a great complement to the ranking algorithms they use.
