Epic Espresso
The Client
Epic Espresso's mission is to become WA's ultimate espresso bar. Staffed by a team of coffee purists, Epic Espresso has a retail outlet in West Perth, from where they use Five Senses beans and produce amazing coffee. They also run The Epic Barista School, teaching coffee enthusiasts from all over WA how to prepare coffee the Epic Espresso way.
The Business Problem
Epic Espresso needed to modernise their web presence and also make the Epic Barista School a stronger feature of their website.
Their employees are also a key asset to their brand and they wanted to utilise their website to really bring their employees into the spotlight.
In summary, Epic Espresso wanted a functional, modern website design that focused on their amazing team and their unique point of difference – their barista courses.
The Frontier Group's Solution
Epic Espresso's old website was static and took more of an online brochure approach. The Frontier Group's strategy was to bring Epic Espresso into the new age of web design and development and to make sure they were using to web to its fullest potential.
Design
It was essential to tie Epic Espresso's website more closely to their company look and brand. Their sleek in-store décor and professional suite of marketing materials were not adequately reflected in their old website design.
The team at The Frontier Group were able to take inspiration from Epic's retail store to create a website that adequately reflected their brand identity. The clever use of great photography and images of the in-store lighting in the website's banner design have helped make the seamless connection between their West Perth premises and their online presence.
Content
One of the key features of the new website is its simplicity. The team at The Frontier Group stripped the old site of any unwanted content and focused on the key messages Epic Espresso wanted to convey.
Content has also been categorised into easy to understand sections of the site based on customer research and feedback, making it easier for visitors to find precisely the information they are looking for.
The team at Epic Espresso also have access to a Content Management System (Aurora CMS), enabling them to update the website at anytime.
Functionality & Usability
The structure of the Epic Espresso website is clear, simple and easily navigable. From the home page of the website, visitors can easily find links to the barista courses, the team and the menu. The store's key contact details are also highly visible and the personality of the Epic Espresso brand is evident in the use of photography and design elements.
Social Media
Epic Espresso's target audience are active on Twitter, so integrating their Twitter profile with their website was a key strategy in developing the new website. This enables Epic Espresso's customers to interact with the team via the website and stay up to date with the latest news from the store.
The Result:
Epic Espresso's new website is simple, clean, professional and works. The team at Epic Espresso love it and most importantly so do their customers.
As a result, they have also had more interest in their barista courses.
